Shamrocks Victorious at St. Louis, 5-3
|
Jeff Schroeder had a good game, but he could not keep the St. Louis Lions from falling, 5-3, to the Boston Shamrocks at The Lions Hearth. The St. Louis shortstop was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 in the loss. Luis Perez earned the save for Boston, his 1st of the year. The Shamrocks now have a record of 24-32 with the win over St. Louis.
Howie Park had a big 2-run home run for the Shamrocks in the top of the third inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Paul Easterling, who led the in wins with 15 last year, and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Shamrocks on top, 3-0.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Park.
