Buchholz Lifts Texans to 7-3 Win
|
Getting a good performance from catcher Mark Buchholz, the Dallas Texans defeated the Denver Cutthroats, 7-3. Buchholz went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Texans. Joe Levensailor picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 5-8. Manny Orellana, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Mahir Ezrahi hit a run-scoring triple off Jesse Steele in the top of the first, which put the Texans in front, 1-0. Ezrahi had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Buchholz.
The 7th-place Texans are now 31-42, the Cutthroats 39-34.
