Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Southern California Empires and Ottawa Capitals.

The Southern California Empires scored a tight, 5-4 win versus the Ottawa Capitals at Empires Stadium. Southern California pitcher Paul Rudolph held his own in the contest. Keith Feldman was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 12 save opportunities.

Matt Bevan, who finished 4th in the in extra base hits with 42 in 2007, chipped in a 2-run home run for Southern California in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
