The Calgary Caracals knocked off the Mexico City Aztecas, 10-7, at Estadio Azteca. Jeremy Cooksey was a big reason Calgary won. The first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the win was Nate Johnson. He went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 3. Kasey Felton nailed down his 5th save.

With Calgary leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Cooksey hit a changeup from Al Novack for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Caracals ahead, 6-2.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Cooksey.

The Caracals raised their record to 27-40.
