Buffaloes Need Extra Frames to Get Past Empires
The Winnipeg Buffaloes and the Southern California Empires played into extra innings before the winner was determined. The Buffaloes won it, 9-6, in 11 innings. In the game, Winnipeg first baseman Matt Westfall went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The losses continue to add up for Southern California, having now dropped 9 straight.

Winnipeg went up, 9-6, on Chris Kayser's 19th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Kayser hit in the top of the 11th, made Southern California pitcher Allan Tiefel grimace.
