The Winnipeg Buffaloes were defeated, 4-3, by the Edmonton Drillers at Drillers Field, even though Gouki Miyagi pitched well for Winnipeg. The win boosted Edmonton to 32-29.

Chris Ring Jr. had a big 2-run double for the Drillers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Edmonton leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a circle change from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Gouki Miyagi and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 4-1.

Ring Jr. called the win "a collective effort."
