Rollers Come Back Late to Top Drillers, 6-2
|
The Edmonton Drillers got a sterling performance from pitcher Adam Judson, but the Las Vegas Rollers still prevailed, 6-2. Judson threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Brian Miller earned the win for Las Vegas. He lasted 8.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 9-3. The second-place Rollers have won 5 straight games.
Las Vegas used a timely hit from Terry Kraus to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rollers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I believe in our guys," said Las Vegas skipper Mike Beck. "I like the energy they're playing with."
