Tigers Earn 5-3 Home Win
|
Tigers first baseman Victor Araque left his mark on his team's 5-3 win over the Calgary Caracals. Araque was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Hamilton in the contest. The winning pitcher was Danny Thomas. He's now 1-0. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the Tigers. Picking up the save was 38-year old right-handed pitcher Simon Thornley.
With the game tied, 3-3, in the bottom of the sixth, Araque had a key at-bat for Hamilton. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Araque hit a 2-run single off Kasey Felton, making the score 5-3, Tigers.
"This is not a one-man show," said Araque. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
