Rollers Reel Off Another Win
|
The Las Vegas Rollers defeated the Calgary Caracals, 4-3, in Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit action at Caracals Stadium. Las Vegas pitcher Sean Lee had a standout performance. The winner was Lee. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Nate Johnson. Earning his 1st save for Las Vegas was Al Novack.
Had Joe Jenkins not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Jenkins hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Rollers.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Las Vegas manager Mike Beck.
Calgary is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
