Win Makes Eagles 16-11
|
Ian Estes never let Allentown get something going. The Newark left-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Eagles to a 4-1 win. Allentown has now lost 4 in a row.
The Fleetwings had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Eagles going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 31-year old right fielder Ryan Rogers came to the plate. Rogers hit a 3-run home run on a 1-2 sinker from Allentown hurler Pete Mellema. It was Rogers's 8th home run of the year.
"Ian is good at sticking to his strengths," said Newark manager Elijah Jackson.
