Empires Deal Chargers 3-2 Loss
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Southern California Empires got the win.
The Southern California Empires picked up a win at Empires Stadium, knocking off the Detroit Chargers, 3-2, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Mobumasu Tsuji played a key role in the triumph. Southern California reliever Chris Clary picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jon Walter took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Dave Gregory in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a 3-run home run off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Jon Walter to win the game for Southern California. The home crowd went nuts.
Said Tsuji: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
The first-place Empires have a one-game lead in their division.
