Buffaloes Drop Eagles, 2-1
|
Tom Thompson pitched well, but the Newark Eagles still lost the game, falling, 2-1, to the Winnipeg Buffaloes at Goldeyes Park. Dan Tremain nailed down his 3rd save. The Buffaloes, at 11-9, sit in 4th place in the Central Division.
The Buffaloes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dennis Ziemer. For the game, Ziemer went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Winnipeg a 2-0 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Newark manager Elijah Jackson, "let me know."
