Rollers Pull Out Late Win, 4-3
|
Sherbrooke wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Hui He, falling to the Las Vegas Rollers, 4-3. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Las Vegas reliever Erik Ritter picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chris LaBriola was tagged with the loss. The Canadians, at 4-13, have stumbled out of the gate.
Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Damian Rogers to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rollers on top, 4-3. For the game, Rogers had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Rogers said.
