Fans watched the Hamilton Tigers and the Saskatoon Moose fight to the finish.

The 5-4 Hamilton win over Saskatoon was due in large part to Matt Sayles. The Tigers designated hitter went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pat Winston was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Simon Thornley closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.

Sayles had a timely hit for Hamilton in the bottom of the seventh. With Hamilton trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-2 curveball into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Hamilton.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," Sayles said.

Hamilton, now 9-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
