Though he had a stellar game, Brent Gingrich could not prevent his team, the Las Vegas Rollers, from losing, 9-6, to the Southern California Empires. Gingrich went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Rollers drop to 4-8, as their stumbling start to the 2009 season continues.

In the top of the first, Bob Fernandez ambushed a first pitch fastball from T.J. Cunningham and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Southern California a quick 2-0 lead.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Fernandez. "You've got to get results."
