Ottawa starter Dave Miller put a stranglehold on the Newark offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Capitals to a 4-0 win. Miller got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. The loss puts Newark at 7-5.

Mark Hensley, who leads the in RBI with 15, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hensley contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Ottawa up, 2-0.
