Kayser Excels, But Senators Win
|
The Albany Senators and Winnipeg Buffaloes played an entertaining game for Goldeyes Park patrons.
Winnipeg left fielder Chris Kayser had a good game, even if his team did not. The Buffaloes dropped a 5-4 decision to Albany at Goldeyes Park. Kayser went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Tim Burger got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Buffaloes to 1 run on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 6.
Albany relied on the hitting of Danny Keown to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Senators on top, 5-1. For the game, Keown had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Fun game," said Keown, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
With the win, Albany elevates its record to 3-0.
