Lions Paddle Keystones, 11-2
|
The exploits of first baseman Arlen Prest, who is tied for 3rd in the PBC with a .624 slugging percentage, helped the St. Louis Lions defeat the Philadelphia Keystones, 11-2. Prest was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Paul Easterling, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 9 innings. St. Louis is now 22-18, while Philadelphia is 17-23.
With St. Louis leading 4-0 in the bottom of the second, Prest came up to bat against Philadelphia pitcher Mike Ocasio. Prest hit a sinker to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 11th home run of the season put the Lions on top, 8-0.
"This is not a one-man show," said Prest. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
