Keystones Lose 6-5 Decision to St. Louis
|
Philadelphia got a terrific game from first baseman Naoto Sugahara. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to St. Louis, 6-5. Sugahara was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Mark Birdwell recorded the save, his 4th. Today's win puts St. Louis at 20-18, while Philadelphia falls to 17-21.
The Lions got a big at-bat from first baseman Arlen Prest. For the game, Prest was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Prest. "And not try to do too much."
