Los Angeles Ruins Terrific Game by Bertsche
The Philadelphia Keystones had to overcome a big game from Los Angeles third baseman Kyle Bertsche to leave Keystones Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 13-9. Bertsche was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Glen Beers notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-1. Bill Wright recorded the save, his 5th.

Naoto Sugahara had a big grand slam home run for the Keystones in the bottom of the second inning. With Philadelphia trailing 5-3 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from Matthew Steele, who finished 3rd in the PBC in wins with 10 last year, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Keystones on top, 7-5.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Philadelphia manager Corey Anderson.

The last-place Knights now sit at 14-21.
