Higgins goes 4-for-4, Mavericks Move to 23-7
The Houston Mavericks trumped the Chicago Blackhawks, 9-5, at Mavericks Ballpark. Houston first baseman Joe Higgins was terrific. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. Ricardo Santana collected save number 10. After today's action, Houston sits at 23-7, while Chicago falls to 12-18.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Mavericks grabbed the lead when Higgins hit his 5th home run of the season. The solo home run off John Maguire made it 6-5, Houston.

"I still think this team can play even better," Higgins told the Houston Chronicle.
