Warriors Win 4-3 Walk-Off
|
The Washington Warriors scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Chicago Blackhawks at Warriors Park. Washington pitcher Charlie Lipsey held his own in the contest. Gennaro Velo snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Isaiah Hoffman suffered the loss. The 'W' lifts Washington's record to 14-12.
Gabriel Stump was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Warriors third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Chicago manager Seth Butynski said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
