Knights Get Gritty, 4-3 Win
|
Los Angeles registered a win at Camelot by beating the San Francisco Peanuts, 4-3. Pitcher Manny Sanchez was one reason why the Knights triumphed. David Gandarilla, who is a three-time All-Star, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-5. The losing pitcher was Edwin Quevedo. Los Angeles, at 8-14, occupies last place in the Pacific Division.
Tony Barksdale was the walk-off hero for Los Angeles. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Knights second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Sanchez called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
