Aces Buijs Out Rest Of Season Thursday, September 25th , 2008 When Las Vegas (R) closer Jordan Buijs was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Aces-Lions game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Buijs had sustained a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and will be out for about 8 months. This season, Buijs has recorded a 5-6 won-lost mark, pitched in 16 relief appearances and rung up 3 saves. He has a 4.57 ERA and has allowed 89 hits over his 80.2 innings of work, struck out 100 batters and walked 23. |
