Saldana Selected Top Performer in R Monday, September 15th , 2008 Washington (R) fans have something to crow about today as Washington (R) right fielder Raul Saldana nabbed the PBC Rookie Complex League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Saldana. He posted a .579 average (11-for-19) this past week with no home runs, 4 RBIs, and 4 runs scored. Currently Saldana has 10 home runs and a .434 batting average. |
