Ponce Goes Cycling Thursday, August 28th , 2008 The Denver (R) Cutthroats topped the St. Louis (R) Lions by a score of 4-0 at PBC Rookie Development Complex, but all the talk was centered on center fielder Omar Ponce. The Denver (R) star hit for the cycle in a show-stealing performance, powering his club to the win. Ponce went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to go along with 2 runs batted in and 1 run scored. "I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Ponce said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me - the ball seemed that big. And it just floated in." Omar Ponce flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Carl Beamish in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
