Reyes Named Top R Hurler Friday, August 1st , 2008 Tony Reyes of Los Angeles (R) had an award-winning July as he took home the PBC Rookie Complex League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Reyes's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in July except for Tony." Reyes was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 5-0 record in 6 starts. He struck out 43 batters in 34.1 innings and kept opponents to a .160 batting average. This year, Reyes has fanned 70 in 51 innings and collected a 5-1 record with a 2.47 ERA. |
