Putthoff Hits in 20 Consecutive Games Thursday, July 10th , 2008 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Joe Putthoff did it again, bashing 4 hits in the contest at PBC Rookie Development Complex. For the last 20 games in a row, the 21-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Boston (R) Shamrocks beat the Washington (R) Warriors, 16-4. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Putthoff told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Boston (R) clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Joe Putthoff grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Putthoff is hitting .431, produced 25 RBIs and 7 home runs, scored 33 times and gotten on base at a .566 rate. |
