Denver (R)'s Kataoka Will Miss Season Tuesday, July 8th , 2008 Yasuhiro Kataoka of the Cutthroats just might have to call it quits for the season. The 17-year-old Denver (R) reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Los Angeles (R) Knights recently at PBC Rookie Development Complex. Kataoka suffered a torn rotator cuff while throwing a pitch. The Cutthroats medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 11 months. This season, Kataoka has claimed 1 save and registered a 1-1 record with a 1.15 ERA. He has 13 relief appearances spanning 15.2 innings and has struck out 18. |
