5 Hits for Mavericks Nakabayashi Wednesday, June 18th , 2008 Even as a kid, Alan Nakabayashi said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At PBC Rookie Development Complex, Nakabayashi showed how well he learned that lesson. The 22-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Houston (R) Mavericks, helping his team knock off the St. Louis (R) Lions by a score of 9-1. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Alan Nakabayashi hit a two-run home run off Francisco Soliman in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off David Arriola in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
