Amateur Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Named Thursday, October 23rd , 2008 It was a dream season for Greg Gay of Oil City Oilers. He pitched his way to a 10-5 record and carted off the 2008 Amateur Baseball Circuit Pitcher of the Year Award. Working 133.1 innings this year, Gay made 21 starts, struck out 187 and crafted a 1.62 ERA. He gave up 97 hits and 53 walks and limited other teams to a .204 average. He received 18 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Travis Verret of the El Paso Mavericks finished second in voting, while Kyle Balmaseda of the Fort Wayne Farmers finished third.
