Bowers Gone for Season in Tulsa Wednesday, September 17th , 2008 Watching Walt Bowers getting helped off the field today at Tulsa Park, fans of the Tulsa Twisters feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the closer will miss 11 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Bowers suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Liberty. This season, Bowers has 7 saves with a 5-5 mark and 6.12 ERA. |
