Monarchs Giron Lost for Year Thursday, August 7th , 2008 When Edwin Giron was hurt against the Tulsa Twisters, the Manchester Monarchs were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 19-year-old closer suffered shoulder inflammation throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Giron would miss 6 months of the season. Giron has 5 saves with a 1-0 season record and a 1.82 ERA. He also has 15 relief appearances, thrown 29.2 innings and struck out 37. |
