Schuerger Tabbed EC's Top Rookie Wednesday, October 1st , 2008 The top rookie has been named for September -- and the winner is Kevin Schuerger. The Eastern Circuit presented the trophy to him today in a press conference. It was a strong 4-1 record that brought the Tampa Bay starter the Rookie of the Month award. Schuerger excelled last month with a 2.89 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 37.1 innings, fanned 36 and held hitters he faced to a .207 average. On the year, Schuerger has worked 172 innings with 202 strikeouts en route to a 17-4 record and 2.72 ERA. |
