Houston Captures Wild Card Sunday, September 28th , 2008 The manager of the Houston Mavericks is reminding the city of Houston to "keep the faith" as the team heads into the playoffs as a wild card team. "We believe in ourselves and we need our fans to believe in us too," said Kevin Read. "We know we can get Houston rocking with a great run in the playoffs." It remains to be seen just how deep the Mavericks will be able to go in the playoffs, but confidence appears to be high. "We've got the team to win a championship, I firmly believe that," said center fielder Tim DeVries. If the team is successful, it would be the 3rd Professional Baseball Circuit championship in franchise history. |
