Texans, Cutthroats Swap Players Saturday, August 16th , 2008 According to BNN there were mixed emotions by the players involved in the trade between the Dallas Texans and the Denver Cutthroats. As part of the deal, the Texans swapped 27-year old LHP Ben Barger to the Cutthroats getting 26-year old LHP Manny Orellana and 17-year old minor league SS Luis Martinez in return. The players indicated it was good to get a fresh new start in another city, but it was difficult to leave your friends on the old team. Looking at his season stats, Barger has won 4 and lost 4, collecting 95 strikeouts and 28 walks in 98.2 innings with a 3.38 ERA. This year, Orellana has no saves in 11 relief appearances with a 1-2 record and 4.73 ERA. |
