San Francisco Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
|
The San Francisco Peanuts have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Denver Cutthroats, winning, 5-4, at Garibaldi's Grounds. Peanuts right-hander Ron Clous threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Peanuts to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Cup Qualifier.
With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Matt Bevan barreled up a cutter from David Torres. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Peanuts in front, 3-1.
San Francisco manager Larry Link called it "a good, solid win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Garibaldi's Grounds in San Francisco.
