In a tight affair between the Denver Cutthroats and the San Francisco Peanuts, pitcher Ben Barger was in the zone. The Denver left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. The winner was Barger. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Jason Huber. Luke Dickerson, who finished 2nd in the EC in saves with 16 last year, nailed down the save.

Denver took a 3-1 lead on Ron Eagan's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Eagan hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Francisco pitcher Jason Huber visibly frustrated.

"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Barger.

The Cutthroats have an impressive 40-23 record.
