Edge Powers Mavericks to 7-5 Win
Quincy Edge was a vital contributor to the 7-5 Houston victory over Los Angeles. The Mavericks catcher went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Kevin Phillips snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3 innings. He's now 4-4 on the season. With the victory, the Mavericks upped their record to 38-24.

Houston used a timely hit from Jorge Nunez to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mavericks ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
