Knights Lose to Shamrocks, 5-2
|
Behind an impressive start by Chris Phillips, Boston beat Los Angeles, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Phillips, now 6-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. Harry Parker was credited with the save for Boston, his 7th of the season.
Boston third baseman Bryan Mickelson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 2-0.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Mickelson.
Boston is now 31-26, Los Angeles 23-34.
