|
Cutter's Cove was the site of a competitive game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Denver Cutthroats.
Tom Smolar helped his team muscle past the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-3. In the game, the Denver right fielder was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. David Torres, the winning pitcher, is now 8-1. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 12 and walking 1. Luke Dickerson earned save number 2 this season.
The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Smolar hit a solo home run off Jake Moore. It propelled the Cutthroats into the lead, 4-3.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Smolar.
The first-place Cutthroats have won 4 consecutive games.
