Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Houston Mavericks and Dallas Texans.
The Houston Mavericks topped the Dallas Texans, 3-2, in Western Circuit action at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Houston pitcher Steve Carter. Carter, now 8-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Dal-soo Kim, credited with the save, is now 8 for 12 in save opportunities.
Houston used the hitting of Rafael Angulo to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mavericks on top, 2-0. For the game, Angulo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Carter.
The third-place Mavericks have won 4 in a row.
