Thunder Snatch Late-Game, 4-3 Win
|
The Tampa Bay Thunder picked up a win at The Thunder Bowl, downing the Philadelphia Keystones, 4-3. On the mound for Tampa Bay was right-hander Eric Parchman, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tampa Bay pitcher Jon Flores got the win. He's now 5-2. Herb Morgan was tagged with the loss. Tampa Bay, at 50-34, holds down second place in the Eastern Circuit.
Darnell Phillips was the walk-off hero for Tampa Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Nice, tidy little win," Phillips said after the game.
