Titans Beaten By Blackhawks, 5-2

The Chicago Blackhawks got a marvelous performance from pitcher Adam Muhammad. The left-hander kept the Toronto offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Chicago victory at Titans Fields. Muhammad got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 11 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Earning his 3rd save for Chicago was Jake Moore.
Dave Kershner drove in one run for Chicago. With one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Kershner, who finished 4th in the EC in extra base hits with 40 in 2001, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Toronto hurler Aaron Sales, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Chicago manager Seth Butynski.
The 4th-place Blackhawks have won 5 in a row.
