Titans Win Squeaker, 6-5, Over Keystones

The Philadelphia Keystones got a sterling performance from pitcher Miguel Valerio, but the Toronto Titans still prevailed, 6-5. Valerio threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Aaron Sales, the winner, is now 4-2. He struck out 5 and walked 2 over 7 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 11 hits. Cory Murnane earned his 6th save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the eighth, Toronto center fielder Carlos Licerio had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Licerio stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 6-3, Toronto. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Toronto manager Nigel Laverick.
The 5th-place Titans hiked their record to 14-12.
