New Orleans Buccaneers Win Top Spot in West Division Saturday, September 29th , 2007 The New Orleans Buccaneers are champions of the West Division, but don't plan the parade quite yet. "It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the Amateur Circuit Cup," said shortstop Jamal Smith. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in New Orleans." The club's record currently sits at 51-36. It is the team's 2nd division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 2nd Amateur Baseball Circuit championship. Team manager Geoff Stucker said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff. |
