Going, Going, Gone! Gonzales Hits 3 Homers Tuesday, August 28th , 2007 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Manny Gonzales did at Bucco Ballpark, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 9-2. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Gonzales said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The New Orleans Buccaneers second baseman blistered the Arlington Stars for 3 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Arlington manager Josh Rego said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Manny Gonzales flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Aaron Jurca in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nick Hinshaw in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Nick Hinshaw in the 8th. To date, Gonzales has collected 19 hits for a .134 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 11 runs and driven in 14 runs. |
