Montoya Shuts Out Manhattan, 1-0 Thursday, August 23rd , 2007 Rod Montoya shut down the Manhattan Liberty, blanking them, 1-0, on 5 hits, ringing up 7 strikeouts and allowing no walks. The Manchester Monarchs pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Montoya said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better.
