Season Possibly Over for Mike Mansfield Friday, August 3rd , 2007 The season is apparently over for Mike Mansfield. The Oil City Oilers medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 4-5 months with a torn back muscle. Mansfield was hurt in the game against Dallas while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season. Mansfield has a 1-3 season record so far. In 10 starts, he has fanned 58 batters in 52.2 innings with a 3.59 ERA. |
