Tulsa Loses Roberto Plaza for Season
Thursday, August 2nd , 2007
The doctors have spoken and Roberto Plaza of the Tulsa Twisters didn't like what he heard. The 32-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Plaza sustained his season-ending injury during the Long Beach Titans game yesterday at Tulsa Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Tulsa medical staff reported Plaza had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months.
To date, Plaza has collected 2 saves in 13 relief appearances. He has rung up 24 strikeouts and 10 walks in 18.2 innings while registering a 2.89 ERA and a 2-1 won-lost record.
